I've been seeing a couple extremely annoying issues with my PAD, that I'm only figuring out now that I'm doing needle drops fairly often:

1. Virtually no recording software will actually capture from the card 24-bit clean. Instead, what usually happens is that the signal undergoes some really weird corruption on the 16th bit, so that superficially it looks like it's recording in 16-bit only, but there is in fact some real data underneath it. Audicity and Samplitude don't work, but KRISTAL does in ASIO mode.
2. Eventually the ASIO driver chokes and refuses to record anything until after a reboot.

This is on an XP system. Has anybody seen anything like this?

I'd drop the RME support a line, including a detailed system config.

You could always try reinstalling the drivers or use a different pci slot.
