I pretty much agree on this list, but I have lately gained a lot of respect for Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys), very satirical in his lyrics, way more depth than any of the others and he had/has a master plan plan.. Duran Duran they were somehow pretty cool and still are, not just an overnight sensation...
 
Wimpy, maybe so.. What about David Bowie, Marc Bolan or Mark Hollis in the long haul I wouldn't call them wimpy at all.. although they may have come out this way or in the eyes/ears of the perceiver.
