Is there any loss in sound quality when you convert WAV to LinearPCM? Is it the same as converting mp3 to atrac? Is there any way to store wav files on the sony x series walkman?

No, as you are converting from one lossless format to another

No, as converting MP3 to atrac is converting from one lossy format to another

If you mean so that you can play them, you need to convert them to LinearPCM.

Cheers

I have about twelve WAV albums on my X. No conversion needed, just drag and drop and make sure your software isn't set to 'automatically' convert to a lower bitrate during transfer.
