Perhaps there is an untapped market here. Waterproof headphones for people who like to listen in the bathtub.

Nope, they already have waterproof iPods and waterproof headphones on the market.

It might create an electronic short (as in short circuit) the next time you plug them in.

I think they would be ok after you dried them. I think that there is a chance that they maybe would even work underwater. Try it.

Ive listened to my marshmallows in the shower before. I couldn't get a seal once water got into my ears though.

rofl. i'm sorry but i can imagine that happening to someone, and i think it's hilarious.

OP: i think as long as you completely dry them out before you plug them in again, it should be "ok." don't take my word for it though

My guess would be it is depends if it was playing when it went underwater. If not, my guess would be it would work after drying (as previously stated). Im not sure where youre going with this thread though...

So... instead of the drivers moving air to produce sound, it moves... water?

Besides... there would be an electrical short (unless you were in a tank of distilled water, which you wouldn't likely be in), so it wouldn't work.

I'm wondering how things would sound when the sound waves are going through a liquid instead of a gas and whether or not I'd ruin my phones trying it.

SAVE YOUR KSC75--I just did it with a set that came with a old CD player.

The low frequencies are taken away, and the sound is tinnier.

It probably would work underwater...it just wouldn't sound good.
