Picked up a Pair of Ultrasone HFI-2000's for $40
Used but in Excellent Condition, was that a Good Deal?

What level headphones are they (Low, Mid or High End)?

They were Released like 4-5 yrs ago, How do they compare to the headphones released in the last 3 yrs?

Do they Need an Amp?

Wow, was this a bankruptcy sale or something?

Don't know for sure about the amp never having heard them but the impedance of 75ohm and sensitivity of 90db would suggest that they do need to be amped to get the best out of them. Not that you won't hear sound without one but they will benefit from amping.

but quick ? , would a fiio amp be enough to drive them fully on a portable?

Really, really doubtful. The portable Fiios aren't particularly good at driving full-size cans.

EXCELLENT deal - some modest amp suggestions include : Total Bithead Amp or the PA2V2 Amp for portable use.
