WARNING: Fake Campfire Andromedas, Vegas and Solaris (Updated in 2022)

I can confirm that the Solaris Classic I’ve bought for $599 from the same shop is indeed original not fake because it sounds just like the OG Solaris in my local Campfire Audio dealer’s demo unit
That is a huge saving the one at the dealer's store is $1,350 but no official accessories just generic eartips and cable. The 2 pin to mmcx adapter did not came with it I just added it in

Also sounds way better than the standard Solaris 2020 version but I’d rank it second to the Solaris 2020 Special Edition

Hi! I bought these as well, and have had them for quite a while, I even opened them up to try and peak inside and saw that it has CA logos even on the inside. I could not however inspect the audio drivers. I honestly just want to know if they really are real or not. I do not have enough experience to tell honestly. However, I also have bought some real Andromedas, and noticed that the highs are crystal clear, a little more so than the Solaris, however the mids and bass not so strong, it seems maybe a little bit airy, but cleaner possibly, the Solaris seem more immersive though. I have not been able to check back to back with real Solaris however.

If you get the opportunity to run a test to see if the sound is exactly the same, please share what you find.

This is with the case opened up.

Can't insert the images for some reason.

If you look at the audio drivers for the Andromeda, the total cost comes to about 200$ for both pieces. So six audio drivers total. Based on that its not impossible for the imitations to have the same audio quality/same drivers.

Edit: I guess this article explains what I am possibly hearing in the difference in sound.

I unwittingly bought some of the fake Solaris 2020s second hand on r/AVExchange and they sounded nothing like the originals. If I had to guess, they might have been QC failures from either a better attempt at a clone.

There have also been fakes of the new Solaris and Trifecta.

It's really disappointing that the market has so many counterfeits – these are fast fashion products, the fakes only hurt the boutique makers and innovators.
