Hi, I'm looking for closed or open headphones that fit as many of these criteria as possible:
1) Sub $600 for closed, sub $400 for open
2) Above average soundstage
3) Warm, enveloping sound. Good for R&B and pop
4) Could be driven by a Fiio BTR5
5) Present bass, doesn't need to be overpowered but still noticeable

Any help would be appreciated! The music I listen to are songs like this:

For closed I'd recommend the Meze 99 classics
For open I'd recommend Fidelio X2,or whatever theyre calling the latest version of it.

For open, if you run it balanced, that fio should have no problem driving the HD650/HD6XX and is a warm/relaxed sound.

Yes I think I agree with @Monsterzero on the Meze 99’s fairly bass heavy with decent soundstage and a bit on the warm side.

The X3 at 2x the price ($350) are almost certainly not worth it vs the X2HR @ $150.

Further, many of us picked up the X2HR during the $99 sale... So you can probably get a used pair for ~$120. At that price? A real value.

Yeah, they're dark (bass heavy) but they're also a "serious headphone" unlike Beats and such. For the money, an excellent starting point, and depending how hard you go, end game.

In fact, the. Meze 99 seem their only competition at this level.

I have a very hard time believing they will be worth $350 based on the X1 and X2HR, is all I'm saying. I have not heard the X3 either.
