  anyone ?

sorry, no experience with the gaming headsets. But bumping you question. From a soundquality perspective I doubt any of these can match the denon but if it's gaming you are more concerned about, who knows....

cheers,
k

I have the Denon AH-D2000, and NONE of the afore-mentioned headsets would hold a candle to it for music, and to a lesser degree for games. I had a HX Cloud and while I do appreciate its gaming performance, it was less than stellar for music though it's based on a Takstar Pro 80 headphone. I sold my HX Cloud, still very happy with my D2000. BTW, the HX Cloud wasn't the only gaming headset I'd owned and sold away, I'd had a craptastic Razer Black Shark headset as well.....truly incredibly bad! I would suggest getting a good pair of cans, attaching a mod mic (IF you really need a mic) and perhaps using Razer Surround software for surround gaming.....works pretty well for regular 2 channel cans (at least, that's what I'd heard from a few users in other forums).

It's not gonna be easy to find a "better" 'phone for that money. D2000 is basically one of the best headphones in that price range, imo. Maybe you should think about the stuff you'd like to be better / different on your D2000's. Soundstage, mid-range etc?

For fans of strong and deep bass and a certain "wow-factor" the Denons are one of the best, unless you throw a lot more money into your purchase. These were my number one home-pair for a few years, then I got Senn HD650's, which are not clearly better, just different. Those, HD600 and maybe Philips X2 could be a nice somewhat different flavor to try out. You'd get more balance and soundstage, but less jaw-rattling bass and bright highs... Better mids too.

So, try and figure out what you are looking for. Then people are more likely to know what to suggest.
