Lumsk - Troll and Det Vilde Kor are great folk metal albums, although they're not as metallish as the aforementioned and have prominent female vocals as well as male vocals.

If you want more power-metallish stuff try bands like Elvenking, Finntroll etc

gotta love sub-sub-subgenres.

Ok, I'll check them out. My friend just told me about finntroll too.

I'd like to put an emphasis on vocal quality. It doesn't necessarily have to be as clean and strictly classical as Mathias Blad, but quality is key.

Uh, Falconer is more of a power metal band than a folk metal band. Have you checked out Kamelot? Roy Khan is one of the best male vocalists out there. You can also try Rhapsody, Edguy, Blind Guardian. All have good vocalists. If you are looking for good vocals I'll advise you to stay away from Folk Metal, cause you are not going to find a lot of good vocals in Folk Metal.

To elaborate more, get these albums:

Kamelot - The Black Halo, The Fourth Legacy
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From the Other Side, Somewhere Far Beyond
Edguy - Hellfire Club, Mandrake
Rhapsody - Legendary Tales

Roy Khan is definitely one of the best male vocalists in metal...and in my opinion, just one of the best singers period (at least to me he is).

Moonsorrow is one of my favourites, vocal quality is great but clean vocals are sparse

Finntroll are great fun.

Skyclad have some great albums with some brilliant titles: Folkemon; Vintage Whine; The Answer Machine?; and the compilation History Lessens.

I'd forgotten about that one. Unfortunately I don't have it. Is it as good as the others?

Oh, Fintroll. The music equivalent of... well, they're pretty much unique. For one of their albums, they locked themselves in a cabin in the woods with recording devices and acoustic instruments, and emerged with one of the weirdest albums ever.

Also, accordions.

I have got to buy some of the stuff mentioned here. Kamelot is better than I had remembered.

Finntroll also sounds interesting. I'll check them out for sure.

Edit- After listening to the samples of Finntroll, I already love them.

Check out:
Elvenking - Wyrd
Forgotten Tales - The Promise & All The Sinners
Mago De Oz - Gaia II (sung in Spanish, but it doesn't matter if you don't understand spanish - the music, vocals and melodies are amazing).

For a more challenging listen (a bit more toward the metal side), check out:
Mechanical Poet - Woodland Prattlers
