Wadia 170i with a solidstate ipod vs. Dedicated Macbook with usb cord upgrade>?

I would be running either through a ps audio dac.

pros and cons of either>?

I've run my MacBook Pro through usb and optical toslink to the PS Audio DAC, and neither can touch the sound of the Wadia with my Ipod touch. Just my opinion, but the computer sounds like absolute crap compared to the coax-digital hookup from the wadia/ipod combo. USB is the worst on that DAC, toslink is a bit better, but neither sounds as good as the wadia.
