Curious what exactly it is since I saw that there is a higher end version of spotify (fidelify) that allows you to play music direct and it definotely sounds better. I am using the ASIO device, and was wondering what VST plugins were since I am not having much luck when I am googling around :xf_cool:

Appreciate the help!

few VST (effect) plug-in types ... =e&f1[]=vst]http://www.kvraudio.com/q.php?search=1&q=&ty[]=e&f1[]=vst (NOTE: you normally need just EQ (equalizer) for playback... either parametric (better) type or graphical eq ... and ofcourse your software needs to have support for VST use.
FIR filter ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finite_impulse_response
Filter (audio) ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_filter

Hmm... VST has noting to do with ASIO nor WASAPI. ASIO/WASAPI are driver APIs which does not have specific sound --> no audible difference. If you hear any difference between these APIs then it must come from DSP done at some point in playback path (samplerate conversion, badly done dithering, EQ, FX). As mentioned already, EQ (as a VST plug-in) is the most common VST used on playback systems ... sure you can hear the difference between untouched and EQed audio?

If you're happy with the sound of your current playback system then there's zero use for additional VST plug-ins.
