Anyone here heard of this yet?

I am considering getting this in addition to the Directv service I already have. There are currently only about 5 HD channels on Directv and this new service is offering 39 HD channels. The price is a bit steep though compared to a basic HD Directv setup.

Yeah, but look at their programming. 99% of that isn't produced in HDTV. That means a lot digitization and line and pixel doubling -- which most good HDTV's can do by themselves.

Not much choice in HD programming. Best is still OTA (over the air). I love HDTV. It's almost a guilty pleasure to get such image quality for "free." I have fundamental problems with paying cable companies monthly subscription fees for programs that repeat all day long with commercials.

Ted Turner was a damn genius.
P.T. Barnum would've been proud.

The problem I see is paying close to $1000 for the associated equipment. In this day and age of free satellite/cable boxes, paying so much is a bitter pill.
