I currently own the M100 and they are very nice with my music genre. Would the SE846 be an upgrade?
 
I plan on buying the Mojo Dac+Amp to run with my S6 Edge + with either head set.
 
I listen to EDM, Hip-hop, Rap and some rock. The M100 fit the bill pretty well as they have great bass, but they do give me fatigue and hurt after about an hour.
 
Basically, will there be a difference in sound quality worth the $1000? Or $700 OVER the M100?

Yes they will be better. The bass will be significantly less pronounced on the SE846, but it will be much more controlled and have a lot more detail to it. Whether that's worth it or not depends on whether you value the differences or not.

I do love the base of the M100. Not sure if I want the base to be less, but I really love it when the base does not take over the other signatures. I like punchy clean base that hits where it is supposed to and does not mesh into other things.
 
Which head phones are faster? Keeps up with the music if that makes sense.
