Last September our beloved VLC program was pulled in from the Apple App Store. For many VLC is the best way to play FLAC files with an Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

As iOS 8 was put out VLC was dropped but now we have a new version that works with iOS 8 perfectly.

VLC is also loved by many for it's over the top abilities to play any file. Well almost any file, let's get real here.

VLC is also free for the Android users and PC users too.

my problem is... vlc doesnt play ac3 files now. unlike before it smoothly plays ac3 files from my movies.

Yes, I read that, seems weird that it would not work? I use it for FLACs and at times for files that iTunes ends up sorting wrong.

I guess you can use iOS Video Player but there may be a bunch of files that are not supported.

Have you tried viPlay?
