Okay, I've been looking around and I'm thinking of getting into vinyl. I've got a couple TT's in mind. But, what else do I need to get it make music...outside of the records, obviously. Amp? Speakers? I'm a total NEWB to vinyl. Your help is appreciated.

You need a turntable+tonearm, a cartridge, a phono preamp, a stereo amplifier, and some speakers/headphones. And records.

If your stereo amplifier has a phono input, then you don't need a phono preamp.

Can I use this set up?

TT > preamp > PRII > headphones/speakers

This is exactly what I'm thinking of getting...

Music Hall MMF-5 w/Benz Micro Ace Cartridge > Bellari VP129 Tube Phono Preamp > LaRocco PRII > Headphones/Epos ELS3 Bookshelf Speaker

What you describe sounds fine. I do not know though whether the PRII headphone amp will drive the Epos speakers (I doubt it).

Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna get the speakers...maybe down the road. And keep in mind, this is a beginners setup. I'll be upgrading everything as time goes on.

Also, how do I pick out the cartridge? The site says:
Ace High 2.5mV Blue Body
Ace Med 0.8mV Clear Body
Ace Low 0.4mV Red Body

Don't understand.

Better to get the high ouput (2.5mv) cartridge to go with the Bellari phono stage!
