Headphoneus Supremus
Thanks all for the additions on the DAC front and otherwise. Just made it through a very rough two weeks. Had some travel for work and came down with covid, only the second time in the past 3+ years. Very rough.
Anyways, that's passing now and have had a few sessions this week.
The Valkyria hasn't lost it's new magic at all.. still very enjoyable and getting half of all head time. It does come off as veiled directly from say the SGL. Sr, Expanse, etc., but a few minutes later shines through with its timbre.
HE90 and SGL Sr. have been getting the most use outside of that, which, just superb. I do enjoy the R10 as much, but just can't help shaking that it feels a bit more fragile due to the headband and I just end up using it a bit less than I would otherwise. And I'm very familiar with this headband system as I've owned the CD-3000 quite a few times. Although I love it, I just use the R10 a bit less. I don't have the same concerns for the vintage HE90, L3000, HE60 or the 009/007 stats..
