Hi,

in my hunt for my new set of headphones I came across de Pioneer Monitor 10, the Pioneer SE-305 and the Sony DR-S5.

I'd really like to know if some of these 'vintage headphones' are still useable and if so any good for laptops and mp3-players. These oldies are well priced and have something attractive. I dig old music, I guess I also dig old stuff.

Search the forums. I think at least two of them have had things posted about them.

The pioneer Monitor 10 is a well regarded headphone (depending on the exact model)

Yep, the Pioneer Monitor 10 are classic studio, and very unique headphones.

Yes.. Another headphone I need to get.. Behind the DT880 S/DT48S 25ohm/DT48 200/Some Studio Fostex, sensui.. So many hidden studio gems that go un noticed..

I love my SE-2P's.. Very nice looking chrome cans, but I love their rolled off, mellow sound.. Still has bass when needed, but otherwise doesn't try and deaf me with subsonic bass.

What will be the cost for the T-50Rp drivers? They are great drivers and very natural, just a bit dark for me.

They are anything but dark when installed in custom closed wooden enclosures and damped right.

Basically you buy a new T50RP and just use the drivers from it. So about 59$ - 69$ shipped for a pair.
