As to now, is there anyone who uses vintage music players such as Sony D-25S, Technics SL-XP5, XP7 as a source of music or not?

I spent too much to get a mint condition Discman D-555 with a working battery and that got me hooked so I picked up a new old stock D-88 and a new old stock WM-D6C Walkman Professional (I already had two of these but both were preowned lol). Got new MDR-E464 earbuds (from the D-88) and new MDR-51 (from the Walkman Professional) too!

I have a nice portable CD player with optical out! I don't have it within reach right now. Will try to post a pic when I find it.

I've the Sony D-335. It's a great machine. I sounds wonderful, and has optical out so I connect it to my PHA-3AC. I like the simplicity of CD's, I press play and it boots in 3 seconds and resumes playback, which is nice.

Forget the vintage cd player, how do you guys deal with the flaking headband on the cd3k?

you just deal with it or replace it with leather lol

I got a basically new CD3000 and literally as I took it out of the box the pads started flaking (they were sticky too). They kept doing so until I finally replaced them with actual lambskin leather pads. The headband also was sticky and has flaked a bit but mine is still holding up OK. I know a lot of people get a custom tailored leather headband as well. Luckily my headstrap hasn't flaked at all yet.
