I've been asked by a friend to play an orchestral reduction of a Vieuxtemps violin concerto on piano. I'd never heard of him before, so I went to the library and checked out a CD with the concerto on it. I was told that Vieuxtemps was a mediocre but decent composer; after listening to his music I actually enjoy it very much, even if it's a bit sentimental. Has anyone else heard any of his stuff?

OMG, why hasn't anyone answered to this post! I adore his 5th concerto, extremely powerful and pretty stuff! I have Heifetz's recording, will look into Sarah Chang's recording later
