This seems to have been produced for a kids show but that's fine by me. Who doesn't love Mr Rogers' segment on how crayons are made.

I want one of those silver coated master press discs (before the nickel goes on). That would be impressive, but probably very hard on needles.

Thanks for posting this. It brought back memories. I was fortunate enough to visit the Decca record plant in my hometown when I was younger. My friend's dad was the production manager and he took us on a tour. I have been fascinated with vinyl ever since.

I liked the biscuit squashing.

It seemed like a very dirty environment to produce a master disc though!

I don't understand one thing, how the sound information transfers from the master to the copy, isn't it just takes the shape of it? Or the certain shape at microscopic level affects sound?

That's exactly it. That needle cuts in a physical representation of the waveform, then when it's pressed it imparts the same grooves in the vinyl.
