In an effort to fit some vinyl listening into my small New York City apartment, I picked up a Vestax Handy Trax portable turntable:

It's really cute, and light, but I get, like, a blizzard of white noise from both the headphone jack and the line out. Anyone have any experience with these, or another portable turntable (or turntable with built-in pre-amp)?
