So I finally
just got my MicroDAC today after 3-4 weeks of waiting for it on backorder...
I admit -- I was a little skeptical of how big of a difference this would make.
However it's been on said on here that bypassing portable player's DAC for external DAC such as MicroDAC has similar increase in sound as bypassing portable player's amp for external amp (SR71, AE-1 etc) -- and I can definitely vouch for that. Similar increase in clarity, detail etc from adding this as to what I hear from going from headphone out --> amp such as SR71.
One complaint -- Tyll, you guys really should have included two of those $2 mini->TOSlink adapters with this $300 product
... it isnt a matter of cutting corners because the MicroDAC itself looks very solid, classy, well-packaged, etc.
Anyways MicroDAC is highly recommended, especially since there's nothing really out there so inexpensive and also portable!
