in regards to the v2s it might not scale as high as the monk plus, (like plugging them into a desktop amp and getting way more clarity, etc) but it does come with the benefit of being 32ohms only. easy to drive, without the need of an amp.
i have the same feeling with the chaconne, but with how sharp i perceive the highs, it ends up hurting my ears, can barely listen to those for more then a few minutes. it was one of the more expensive buds i was thinking about before i started to know about VE
also do get the 4.4mm version of the v2s. they sound wider and due to how wide the headroom is and its technicalities are further enhanced they are when compared to the 3.5mm version.
also i would also recommend snatching the abigail pro 4.4mm as well if you have not already. the v2s should still have the bundle available. if im not mistaken its basically getting the abigail pro at half price.
its loaded with a custom firmware and its actually more powerful then the old not by ve abigail.
oh and fyi, the monk plus is technically the 5th version right now, iirc it sounds slightly different then the monk plus you have, but only slightly. its tends to show up when running on a desktop amp, slightly less bass, and abit more forward in the mids. you can tell if you see a small VE logo on the driver cover
zen 2.0 has a more retro feel. more suited for darker music, i have the zen lite vita which is quite close but with more warmth and mids.
but basically the monk, zen, asura, and sun series have different flavours
monks are the jack of all trades, zens typically have a higher emphasis on bass, and warmth, asura are the vocal/mid centric ones and the suns are an amalgamation of all the others put on steriods.
the zen 3.0 is on the same level as the sun dice, but with a focus on bass and vocals
Heya guys!
I've got a bit of an issue with my Megatron and I was wondering if someone may have a fix: I just replaced my old phone and when I plug the Megatron into the new one, the phone tries to charge the Megatron and does not detect it as a DAC :/
I have made sure that I've been using the DATA port, and I even tried plugging in an external battery (which starts to charge my phone), but I can't get the phone to detect the Megatron as a DAC.
I do have an option, in the USB menu, to stop the reverse charging, but for some unknown reason, untoggling that option fails.
I also tried with a bunch of other cables, all of those works with my other DACs, but that didn't work either, and I don't have the issue with my other DACs.
The Megatron is detected, with no issue, by my PC, so I'm a bit puzzled by all this.

thank you for your answer.
Yeah, I thought of the USB audio routing, and it hasn't been disabled, but turning it off apparently fix the issue for some devices, but that would be counter-productive in that case.
My new phone is a Ulefone Armor 17 Pro, and my previous phone was a Motorola One Zoom, whose battery recently died. I can't still turn it on, but it need to be plugged into an external battery.

looking at the specs on gsm arena it does not show the bitrate... it might be because they didnt put that feature in, other phones that use the same SoC has them. like the realme 10
i also noticed the optional bt codecs arent there as well. you might have a phone thats not made with usb dac support...
also check if otg support is enabled. it might be set to turn off automatically like in some realme phones

Looks like the GSM Arena page isn't correctly filled. The phone does support LDAC and AptX + AptX HD.
It is a relatively recent model, so that might explain the differences.
Many thanks for your ideas, though, much appreciated!
yep, I've tested with the Truthear Shio, the Qudelix 5K and the SoundBlaster Super X-Fi, and they all work with the Ulefone.
Edit:

It's been a month since I touch any of my earbuds. Time really flies by when you're focusing on your goal and don't pay no mind to anything else.
It is a nice change of pace. From wandering dailies with nothing to do except constantly looking at groups' discussions while sipping a good cup of iced coffee, to just focusing on that one goal of life.
Decided to bring these out for tonight's listening session with Meier Cordia HeadSix Amp from 2007. It still holds its own with Analog Devices dual 8610A op-amps.
