I recently moved from a house with a normal 9 foot celing to a small house with a vaulted celing. Ouch, too much echo. Help.
My equipment
B&K Refrence 200.2 S2 Power Amp
Reference 5 S2 Preamp
Paradigm 100 speakers Biwired into preamp
Rotel RCD 971 CD player.
I'll send a photo of the room as soon as you guys give me permission.

At first I though it was the hardwood floors that I covered 80% with carpet but now realize it's the vaulted celing.

I just moved to a new place and I am going through the exact same things. >.<

putting a layer of cloth over the ceiling and walls will greatly reduce echo.
the problem is reaching that height......borrow a ladder?

Another question is, have you settle in yet?

a room that is furnished, after you have unpacked, and started to occupy the room, the amount of echo in
the room will drop, at least it did for me. If you haven't settle in yet... try to set up all your stuff, and see what happens
