I was wondering if anyone knew of any good bands coming out of the Vancouver indie rock scene? I'm looking for something like along the lines of Stabilo or Lotus Child.

Thanks!

you say party! we say die! are alright, they have some catchy tunes.

Matt goods from coquitlam, but I wouldn't really call him indie.

Matt Good is from BC? Damn, I was under the impression he was from Ontario. Oh well, have him. I'll check out you say party! we say die!

EDIT: Just checked out you say party! we say die!... not a particular fan of dance-punk, so, although they were catchy, not my scene

if you're into indie folk, do check out Great Aunt Ida and The Buttless Chaps -- local girl Ida Nilsen are in both groups. for rock, check out the group Elizabeth.

i like You Say Party! i do believe they have a new album out, no?

Do you have a website where I could sample songs by Elizabeth?

ooh, another group to check out is The Organ. their album "Grab That Gun" is very good from the all-female band.

Thanks for the suggestions. I liked Elizabeth - I'm definitely going to see if I can find their album somewhere. The Organ I liked less, though they weren't bad.

Don't really like elizabeth... Different taste I guess.... Sounds a bit to much like other bands, I like bands that give you something new/ more original.

I'm not a musician , it must be difficult to make original music.

I believe Destroyer! is from the Vancouver indie scene, and have garnered pretty good reviews on thier album Destroyer's Rubies (i thnk thats what it's called).

Stabilo is awesome. The first track of their CD is so damn catchy.
