although some may argue, the HD280 PRO is the best. I use the V6 and the 280 pro. the 280 is much better, especialy for techno. any type of music, really. the v6 is actually about the same amount, after considering that one would put Beyer pads on. Go for the 280 pro. sorry about your wallet!

Here are a couple of threads comparing the D66 and the V6:

I tried the 280 and the D66 out together, knowing that I'd keep only one. The first thing I noticed was that the 280 had some soundstage, while the D66 really didn't - everything seemed to be right there by your ears. The D66 had a forward, smooth midrange, I really liked that, but it sounded a little harsher in the high end, especially with poor sources or mp3s. The D66 bass is a little more prominent, or maybe it's just mid bass. The 280 bass is deeper and tighter, and even a little more visceral because of the large, tight fitting cups. The 280 definitely wins for isolation. The D66 definitely wins for looks! I kept the 280 because overall, I liked the sound better, but if I was using a portable, it would be the D66 hands down - they look great, they're tiny, and they come with a nice little bag. They're comfortable too - I like the way they envelope your ears. I've also heard that they sound great with md.
