I can get a pair of m100's for $230. At that price range is there a better option. I need something that can be driven without an amp. I'm fine with open cans too.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of sound do you like? Thumping bass or lush mids or detailed highs or ??

Mainly pop and classical. I'm not a basshead so balanced bass would be fine. Forward mids and good treble extension would be more important I think.
