Hey head-fi! I think i'm gonna buy the V-Moda M-80's but i'm not sure if i'll get the best sound quality.
They're 200$ at my local radio shack and i'm gonna go buy them later this week, do you have any other recommendations?
Are there any other headphones that might be better?

I know i'm not getting the best quality, but in terms of looks i love the V-Moda's.

Thanks!!

They sound awesome.  I did tons of testing with the V80 and M80 against the ATH-M50 and CAL!.  I even tested the V80 against a pair of Sennheiser HD-25-1-ii and Beyer 1350 and even though the Beyer 1350 sounded cleaner and more even throughout the spectrum, the V80 was not far behind.  Rest assured the V80/M80 is my top choice for the $200 and below category now.

Other headphones that are typically looked at here are the ATH-M50, HiFi-580 / 780, and Grado SR-80i, but to me the V-Moda M80 and V80 dominate those.  The V-Moda LP2 is no where near as clean and even sounding as the V80.

Best of luck and let us know what you decide and how you like them.

I've also had the same question for the past couple weeks. For me it's between the M-80 and HD-25, and possibly the hfi-580.

Was gonna buy the M-80 today but the 15 radioshacks I called didn't have them.

Picked up the M-80's, definitely a good buy.

Looks, and feels beats sennheiser, but it can all boil down to personal preference so i can't say for sure.

The case for the M-80's is absolutely unbeatable.

Thought you would like them.  They sound a bit more involving than the HD-25, but just a tad less than the Beyer 1350.  I was able to audition all three at once and for the price I loved the M80.
