So I have a FiiO E10K Olympus2 and a ATH-ADG1 headset. I want to use my DAC as the audio out and my onboard soundcard as audio in, simply connecting the audio jack to the DAC and the Mic jack to the back of my PC achieves this... however I get some "static" distortion when doing this... I don't know why this happens but the static disappears when I pull out the mic jack. does anyone have any idea what is causing my problem and how to fix it?

Using the line-input, on a low cost sound card, like the Asus Xonar DG/DGX might help with the static issue.

I've tried using the USB soundcard that came with my headset as a audio in source as well, but still the same problem... so basically it leads me to believe that the problem has to do with the headset itself and not the in and outsources... it seems that having the in and out split between different sources causes some sort of distortionno matter what...
