Higher impedance == less current.

less current == less load on the amp.

Note: an ideal amp has infinite input impedance and near zero output impedance.

What do you mean by "infinite"?

First you saw the word "ideal" in my statement right?

infinite - really big number, bigger than infinite

Of course no real amp has infinite impedance, however in the design of an audio amp you want it to be pretty high.

Infinity is not an ideal term.

What term would you use. Note "ideal" was used to describe the amp, meaning if it were possible to build an amp with those features, it of course is not possible.

so...it means if you already have a good amp w/o dac (voyager for example), a lod is enough, the dac wont do much good?

umm... the dac is only used on computers, not the ipod.

On the ipod a DAC will do nothing since it is currently not possible to get a digital output except for some single company that makes a very expensive device for it.
