i ordinarily go for the circumaural headphone type. i have several Senn cans, including the HD650s. i recently picked up a new pair of Klipsch Custom 1 in-ears for $5 at Guitar Center.

dunno much about in-ear stuff, but for five bux, how could i go wrong?  well, they don't sound half bad on my PC at work and am now contemplating buying something better for use at home.

i have a couple dedicated head amps (Darkvoice 336i and an Original Master) as well as a Marantz receiver (SR-96) and a Model 1060 integrated.

i was planning to try the Beyer DT-990/600 cans, but for the same price (more or less) i could get some better IEMs (Klipsch X5, maybe?).

question is, of the few specs i've looked at today, all i have seen are 30-50 ohm impedance and the term 'ipod' is usually somewhere in the reviews.  is that all these things are good for?
