i am planning to use car audio amplifiers and subwoofers/component speakers in home made boxes for a setup for my band. i have done it in the past on a smaller scale (200 watt amp..) but I am planning for around 1200 watts per channel, running most likely 1 12" subwoofer per channel. i was looking at 2 JBL 1200.1 amplifiers, possibly 2 image dynamics IDMAX 12" (1 per channel) IDMAX , 2 elemental designs 15" A series 15" ed A series (1 per channel) or adire audio brahma 15" brahma 15" (1 per channel). just some ideas for waht i could use. im not sure what i coud use for component speakers, or if this whole idea is just a bad one.. this would be for my band that a friend and i are starting. (ill be the sound man.) im not sure what kind of converter ill need for this... 2400watts of power.... hmm... some sort of industrial battery charger??? lol. but if i could pull this off (i think i can) (i have $1000 to spend) i could have a huge system that would sound really good... and would be LOUD. . . muahahhahahahah...
