Hi all,

Sorry for what I presume is an obviously stupid question given I couldn't find any trace of it on the forums (sorry if I missed it).

Got a pair of Focal Spirit Classics for cheap which I'm very happy with, but unfortunately the sound quality is compromised somewhat by the sub par dac on my phone (the Nexus 6p) which is what I do most of my listening on, so was wondering if it were possible to combine a USB Amp/Dac combo (say the Fiio E10K or the NuForce uDAC-3) with a portable battery pack. Does it provide enough current to the device? How much would it drain?

Sorry again if I'm missing something which make these questions stupid.

Thanks,
Alameir

You would actually need a real portable DAC/AMP combo to bypass your phones DAC, as it needs to plug into your phones usb.

Plugging from the lineouts on the dac/amp combo units you listed would use your phones dac but the combo units amp.

Would be easier (and less cumbersome) to get an actual portable dac/amp combo, or instead of using your phone as your audio player, get a DAP
