Using a laptop abroad

I just purchased the ASUS UL30A-X5 for my study abroad semester in Ireland. I have been trying to figure out if I can get a cord to plug into the charger that would allow me to charge the laptop while in Ireland without going from US to UK adapter. Anyone have any ideas?

What is wrong with using a US to UK adaptor ?.
