Ok, so I got a spanking new Stello DA100 (which sounds awesome), hooked it up to my computer using usb and to Creative X-fi through coax.

Configured foobar to use usb ds playback, everything works fine as expected.

However, when I switched X-fi from Audio Creation Mode (tm) to Game Mode (tm) playback through foobar went mute. Switching back to Audio Creation Mode brings the audio back.

I can't figure out why switching modes mutes foobar's usb playback.

btw, I'm setting the dac up like this so that I can use the Stello's input switch to switch between game audio (coax) and music (usb).

Any ideas?

It sounds like your stello is broken. Ill take it off your hands for $100.

Ok, problem solved. I'm an idiot.

For some reason the usb dac's volume controls were muted in windows control panel in all other x-fi modes but audio creation.. after turning the volume up everything works.
