When I hook my Beresford TC-7520 DAC up to my PC via USB, there is a tone beep in the background when using ASIO or loading certain games. OS is XP. Kernel streaming won't load, and DS output works fine (until I launch a game and then it beeps)

On my laptop, I can run ASIO output just fine without any beeping.

Is it my usb port? settings somewhere? is the DAC broken?

EDIT: The beep is present even without the DAC powered on, yet it is only on this computer. Coaxial output seems to work without issue - for now i'll use that.

What could the game or ASIO be doing that makes it beep?

Audio plugin demos and software will sometimes beep (hiss) as a reminder that you haven't paid. Shot in the dark but something to consider.

I cannot think of any reason why it would be beeping - this is one of the weirdest things of all time.
