I've been successfully using the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to connect my iPhone to my RME DAC. I recently got the iPad Pro w/ USB-C which I'd like to start using instead of the iPhone.

There are two notable differences between these adapters on apple.com (screenshots attached):

1. The USB-C to USB omits 'Camera'
2. The USB-C to USB is US$10 less than the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter

My question is are they in fact functionally identical? The USB-C to USB is what I should use to connect my iPad to the RME? Figured I'd ask here before going through the hassle of purchasing and then returning if it's not the case.

If not, any cable recommendations?

TIA...

On my 2020 iPad Pro I have used the USB C to USB adapter with success. I only use the camera version with lightning devices. For audio purposes, to this user, they are identical. iPhone 13 Pro Max with lightning works same as iPad Pro on USB. My preferred iPad Pro approach is an Audioquest USB C to USB B cable (Cinnamon) for my Chord and Woo Dacs. This approach removes a part in my chain, is cleaner looking, and performs to perfection.
