I'm considering getting one of these music servers but I was wondering if it is possible to use their USB port to connect an external hard drive with music on it and play those files off of the hard drive. Also can you copy music from the external hard drive onto the Olive's internal hard drive, and vice versa? thanks in advance for the assistance.

Back when I owned one, you could technically do that, but it didn't work well. I would hope that have improved that since then.

what's strange is that there are some reviews that say you can but when I ask Olive thru email then told me that it was not correct and you could not do this.

Thanks for the response however one of the reviews of your music serve mentionned that you can use the usb connection to connect to the PC and load your music files from the pc onto the music server without going thru a network connection (Olive Opus No4 Music Server Review*-*AVRev.com). Is this correct?

This is a mistake, you can't connect a PC via USB, only via Wifi or ethernet through your router.
