Urgent!! Help me recover a corrupted external hard disk!

My harddisk, which contains a lot of old songs, pics, phone backups and more just crashed. I think its corrupted, i cant see anything saved neither can i see how much space is left. I REALLY need help with this as i have a ton of important stuff saved in it.
