Hello fellows,

I have a kareoke contest to enter tomorrow.
However the organization that holds this contest just phoned and told me that they could not find the kareoke version of the song I picked,
only the music video version which contains the original vocals in it.
(not viable during the contest...)

I really want to perform, and have been practicing, that particular song.....
I thought of 2 ways:
Either eliminate the vocals in the video or eliminate the vocals in the music file then sync it to the video....

Any help is much appreciated!

It would take a really long time to eliminate just the vocals, but you could probably find the instrumental of what you are looking for somewhere. Try to P2P it and see what you get. I was in a situation like yours for a school project(needed instrumental version for backround music on a video) and found it on Kazaa.

usually you can remove most of the vocals by removing the center channel, since usually vocals are recorded there...

if you have some audio editing software i believe there are a bunch of plug-ins to do it...

Thanks for the input guys!
The song I'm looking for is in Mandarin,
so that greatly reduced the chance that I'm gonna find it through any P2P programs... :p

However the issue has been resolved.
I asked one of my friends in Taiwan to do me a favor and buy the video,
then send it to me as soon as possible.

Again,
thanks to those who tried to help out.
You are much appreciated!
