Have an older pair of Swan m200 that I've loved but am looking to upgrade. would like to keep the cost below $300 ...office where they will be used is 20 x 16 with kneewall and low ceiling. Ideas would be appreciated

A set of studio monitors would be an upgrade in your budget the Mackie MR5 and JBL2325p are good.

The Swan M200 are pretty reasonable speakers; I'm not sure you can do much better for $300.  What is it about your present system that you would like to improve?

I don't think you can do much better than the M200s either from what I hear.  I just had a listen to a lot of studio monitors at the local guitar center.  The mackie MR5/8 MK2s really impressed me out of all of them,  with a superb mix of bass and clarity, although I don't know how much of an upgrade over the M200s would be.  I think you'd have to expand your budget to get a true upgrade.

Why the need to upgrade? Are the swans too fatiguing? If you want better sound maybe try upgrading to the Swan MK 2 it's one step up the line. And can be had for around $250
