About 2 years ago I bought my brother a pair of SE110's, to kind of get him introduced to somewhat decent sound. He is graduating with a B.S. and I want to get him something much better. He likes the sound of the 110's, but its all he is used to. I was thinking to stick to the shure type sound. Ive considered the 310's, but now Im wondering if the 510's would perfect or overkill? I am not sure how substantial the 310's are. It doesnt have to be shure, I am sure there are plenty better/different IEMs out there. He has no external source, just his sony mp3 player.

if he has and likes the 110 then i say 530.

itll be impossible to say one thing may be a little better for him than any other but there is a huge improvement going from the 110 to the 530
