Hello all. I would like to continue using the asus xonar as a DAC but I want to upgrade to a desktop amp. I am using ultrasone pro 900s and I generally like bass heavy music. Could anyone give me a decent amp that would benefit me in the $150-300 range (or cheaper if it's an upgrade). Thanks!

Which Xonar Essence?
 
O2 (Objective 2) might do a better job with some headphone compared to the Xonar Essence.
 
Have you tried replacing the op-amps (operational amplifiers) in your Xonar Essence?
