I've had the P3+ for several years now and have been relatively happy with it.  I'd like to get something with a little more depth and low end punch for use with my ipod.  I'd like to keep it under $300.  Any suggestions?

I'm late to the party - sorry about that.

I have really enjoyed my P3+, mostly with my TF10s and SR-80s.  When I want to step it up, however, I use an RSA Hornet.  The iBasso is fantastic, but the Hornet is better in every way - bigger soundstage, quieter background, better separation of instruments, better bass control - and the Hornet can drive my AKG 702s.

There are a number of very good amps in the $300 price zip code but I'd urge you to try one of Ray's - used if you need to stay under $300.
