I am currently running macbook pro >apogee duet > hd595 and was wondering if upgrading to a hd600 or hd650 would be a noticeable improvement. I like the sound signature of the 595 but I want more from my setup.

Any suggestions? other headphones brands I should consider or something else to upgrade besides the headphones?

The HD600 and 650 will sound significantly different. I found their sound to be an upgrade from the HD595. In fact, I moved on to other cans and have found myself back to the HD650/600's.

I'll be shortly finishing for now with the HD800.

I'm just about fully decided. Can't seem to shake my curiosity about them.

My frown comes from the hope that it will indeed be my last purchase for a while. I thought the HD600's would be but I was fooling myself. I knew I had unfinished business with either the HD800's or T1's. I decided to make it a birthday treat.

Getting back to the original question

, if you like the basic sound signature of the HD595 then I think you'd like the HD600. It has the same rolled-off highs but with more detail and a more prominent bass, and is just as easy to listen to for long periods. They do grip more than the HD595 and so can feel a little uncomfortable at first but they do stretch with use.

I've found them to be a significant step-up from the HD595 and well worth the extra money.
