I have Ety's ER-6 and are really satisfied with those. I'm thinking about upgrading to ER-4 p but I'm not sure about if the difference is THAT big. Is it? What is the most significant differences? Please help!

This should probably be in the headphone forum. Try asking there.

Well, he can get the ER-4P with the P to S adapter.

Then, he will have a great portable, as well as a great home, headphone.

At the risk of prolonging a thread that should perhaps be in the Headphones section, why are you considering an upgrade?

If it is to get the purest sound from Etys, and your intended use in amped, non-portable sources, then go with the ER-4S. If you want to replace the ER-6 with a portable set, then the ER-4Ps are better for non-amped portable sources.

Best of both worlds is to get the ER-4P and the 4P-4S adapter cable, which adds about 70ohm resistance to bring the 4Ps up to the 4S spec.
