Currently have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro's (250 OHM) and magni 2 + modi 2 stack. Wondering if there are any better options for sound quality. Willing to spend up to $700 on headphones and amp

If you like the sound of your 880s, you should read about the Hifiman HE-4 ($449)

Maybe get a tube amplifier, plug it into the Modi 2?

Audio Technica ATH-W1000X closed headphones?
(will work fine with the Magni 2)

Hifiman HE-4 looks like a good option, but seems like it may be too heavy.

Unlike HE-400 and HE-500, the HE-4 has a single-sided magnet array (similar to the newer and more expensive HE-560), that's why it's clearly lighter. In fact the HE-4 is the lightest HIFIMAN's full size headphone.

HE-6 (502g)
HE-400 (440g)
HE-560 (375g)
HE-400i (370g)
HE-4 (350g)

Not that far from other dynamic headphones (250-300g)
