I current own a pair of HD595's that connect to my Creative Audigy 2 LS soundcard. I know these phones can sound better than they do, but I don't know how to get to that point.

I've been debating on buying one of the Meier Audio Corda Headfive amps, but after checking this section of the forums, it seems like most people get external DAC's instead.

Any help would be appreciated. Would a DAC give me better improvements than an amp? I know I could use a better soundcard, but I'm waiting until I build my next computer to upgrade any parts.

i'm getting a x-fi this week (haven't decided on which one yet).

so would a DAC or amp help my HD595's more.
