Hi. I have the A900's, and i really like their sound. I love the Audio-technica sound, so i want to go from there. Been thinking about getting the w1000's until someone here or wherever sells me a pair of w100's. Would the w1000's satisfy my upgrade fix from the A900's? I know they are either a love or hate phone, but id rather buy them and try them out rather then what could've been. Do they have a familiar sound to the A900's, or are they a completley different beast? Thanks.

Could you go to open cans or do you need closed? They have a different sound that some people prefer. I don't know if the W1000s are open or closed... it's just a thought.

Ive had some open phones before (hd 595's, 600's) and i do prefer closed phones...mainly because of isolation. So yeah, im basically looking for colsed phones from the ATH line. The w1000's are closed.

I'm sure you've seen this review. Bangraman did a very nice job of describing W1000's characteristic sound.
