I'm looking to upgrade my Schiit Magni to power the 3.2 Mad Dogs that I plan to get. There has been mixed reception over the combination, some saying it's great, others think it is lacking. I have a Modi DAC, and I don't think it needs upgrading.

Budget is no more than $200. Still not sure if it will be nesscasary to upgrade.

Maybe try asking in these threads.

I've got an O2 stack which many have described as being very similar in sound and value for money compared to the budget Schiit stack.
It drives my T20RP MKII really well (modified by bluemonkeyflier and as he describes it, they're almost identical to a properly modded T50RP MKII). I don't feel it's lacking in any way. I wouldn't expect an amp upgrade to do give you much return or difference unless it was a 'flavoured' tube amp.
